# Free proxy list, verified around the clock
<p align="center"><b>7,221 free proxies live right now, 37,914 working in the last 48 hours, every one of them tested and labelled.</b></p>
<p align="center">HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 · country, anonymity, latency and uptime on every row · updated 03.10.2026</p>
<p align="center"><a href="https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list"><img src="https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/assets/cta/en.svg?v=1790992294" alt="See the full list on hproxy.com" width="520"></a></p>
This is the free proxy list published by [HProxy](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list). An engine pulls candidates from more than 100 public sources every few minutes, tests each one over HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5, and records the country, anonymity grade, latency and uptime of every proxy that answers. It has tracked **887,943** proxies so far. **7,221** are live at this minute and **37,914** answered within the last 48 hours, and both sets are published: `live.txt` holds only what is up right now, `all.txt` holds the wider pool that free proxies drift in and out of. There is no signup and no API key, and you can pull the files as often as you need.
If you have been collecting proxies from a dozen repos and sites, this list already contains them. It is built from the same public sources, then checked. See [Sources we aggregate](#sources-we-aggregate).
## Quick facts
- **887,943** proxies tracked so far, **7,221** live right now, **37,914** working in the last 48 hours
- **4 protocols**: HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5, and every proxy is labelled with the ones it actually answered on
- Pulled from **more than 100 public sources**, deduplicated, and re-tested around the clock
- This repository is refreshed several times a day (the commit list shows each refresh); the [live list on hproxy.com](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list) refreshes every few minutes
- Every row carries **country, city, anonymity grade, latency, and uptime over 24 hours and 7 days**
- **Free**: no signup, no API key, no limit on the raw files
- Filtered files per protocol, per country, and by anonymity tier (elite, anonymous, fast)
- Formats: **txt, json and csv**

## What each row tells you
Most free proxy lists hand you a bare `ip:port`. Each row here also carries the measurements that decide whether the proxy is worth a request:
| Field | What it tells you |
|-------|-------------------|
| `protocols` | The protocols it actually answered on, out of HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 |
| `anonymity` | Transparent, anonymous or elite: whether the target can see your real IP |
| `country` / `city` | Where the exit sits |
| `latency_ms` | Measured response time on the last check |
| `uptime_24h` / `uptime_7d` | How often it answered, so a proxy that was up once does not look like one that stays up |
All of it is in [all.json](all.json) and [all.csv](all.csv), and on the [live list at hproxy.com](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list), where every row can be filtered by country, protocol, anonymity and uptime.
## Use it in your code
**Python (requests):**
```python
import random, requests
proxies = requests.get(
"https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/all.txt"
).text.split()
proxy = random.choice(proxies)
r = requests.get("https://api.ipify.org",
proxies={"http": f"http://{proxy}", "https": f"http://{proxy}"},
timeout=10)
print(r.text)
```
**curl:**
```bash
curl -x http://$(curl -s https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/http.txt | head -1) https://api.ipify.org
```
**Node.js:**
```js
const list = await fetch("https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/all.txt")
.then(r => r.text());
const proxies = list.trim().split("\n");
```
## Use it as an API
Every file is a raw endpoint that refreshes with the repository. The jsDelivr mirror carries the same files with no rate limit:
```bash
curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/all.txt # every working proxy, one ip:port per line
curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/main/by-country/US.txt # one country
curl https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list@main/all.json # full details, via the CDN
```
If you want country, protocol and uptime filters without cloning anything, use the free real-time API documented at **[hproxy.com/docs/free-proxy-list](https://hproxy.com/docs/free-proxy-list)**, or open the **[live list on hproxy.com](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list)**, where every proxy has its own page.
## Use it from an AI assistant
The same list is open to AI assistants and agents. HProxy runs an MCP server with three tools, `proxy_list`, `proxy_check` and `ip_lookup`, on top of the same keyless API, and the setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and Windsurf is at [hproxy.com/tools/ai](https://hproxy.com/tools/ai). The API is documented at [hproxy.com/docs/free-proxy-list](https://hproxy.com/docs/free-proxy-list), and the whole free API fits on one markdown page written for assistants, [hproxy.com/llms/free-proxy.txt](https://hproxy.com/llms/free-proxy.txt).
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http hproxy https://mcp.hproxy.com/mcp
gemini extensions install https://github.com/hproxy-com/hproxy-mcp
```
Instructions for an assistant, in full: fetch `https://hproxy.com/api/proxy-list?format=json` for every live proxy, and add `protocol=socks5`, `country=US`, `anonymity=elite` or `min_uptime_pct=90` to filter. No key, no signup, CORS open. Check any proxy with `https://hproxy.com/api/proxy-check?proxy=ip:port`. These are public free proxies: expect fewer than half to answer at any moment, set a short timeout and move to the next one.
You may build the list into your own software, free of charge and without asking. If something does not work, support is staffed around the clock at [hproxy.com/contact](https://hproxy.com/contact).
## What the numbers say about free proxies
The engine keeps the history of every proxy it has ever seen, so the usual claims about free proxies can be measured instead of guessed. Read-only query over the pool on 2026-09-05: 763,409 proxies and 115,078,758 verification checks.
- **A free proxy lives about six days.** Median lifespan across the 691,179 proxies that have died: 144.5 hours. 22.6 percent were dead within their first hour, and 17 percent lasted more than a month.
- **A live one answers fewer than half of its checks.** A proxy in the live set passed 45.5 percent of its own verification checks. Of the 765,494 proxies ever tracked (2026-09-06), 667 have answered 90 percent of their checks or better; they are listed at [hproxy.com/free-proxy-list](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list).
- **The free lists on the internet are one pool.** The average live proxy appears on 17.9 of the sources we pull from, and 94.7 percent appear on more than one. Copying from several lists gives you the same proxies with different dates.
In practice: use free proxies for public pages, tests and location checks, with a short timeout and a retry on the next line. Anything with a login, a payment, or a target that runs bot detection needs a proxy that stays up and is not shared with the whole internet; see [When a free proxy is not enough](#when-a-free-proxy-is-not-enough).
## FAQ
**How many free proxies are in this list?**
887,943 have been tracked so far. 7,221 are live at this minute and 37,914 answered within the last 48 hours, and the published files hold exactly those.
**Which protocols are supported?**
HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5. Each proxy is labelled with the protocols it actually answered on, not the ones it was listed under.
**How often is the list updated?**
Candidates are pulled from the sources every few minutes and re-tested around the clock. This repository is refreshed several times a day, and the [live list on hproxy.com](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list) shows results within minutes.
**Are the proxies anonymous?**
Each one is graded transparent, anonymous or elite by whether the target sees your real IP. Filter on the `anonymity` field in `all.json` or `all.csv`, or take `elite.txt`.
**How do I use a proxy in Python?**
See [Use it in your code](#use-it-in-your-code) above. Pull `all.txt`, pick a line, and pass it to `requests` as the `http` and `https` proxy. Set a timeout and move to the next line on failure, because a free proxy answers fewer than half of its checks.
**Do I need an API key or an account?**
No. The raw files here and the [free API on hproxy.com](https://hproxy.com/docs/free-proxy-list) need no signup and no key.
**Can an AI assistant or agent use this list?**
Yes. The MCP server, the keyless API and the llms.txt pages are made for that; see [Use it from an AI assistant](#use-it-from-an-ai-assistant).
**Are free proxies safe to use?**
Treat them as public and untrusted. They are fine for scraping public pages, testing and location checks. Never send passwords, sessions or payment data through a public proxy: whoever runs it can read anything that is not encrypted end to end.
**How is this list different from other free proxy lists?**
Every proxy here is re-tested around the clock and carries its measurements, and the list is built from the same public sources the other lists use, so one file replaces the collection. The history behind it is published too, see [What the numbers say about free proxies](#what-the-numbers-say-about-free-proxies).
## Sources we aggregate
The engine pulls from more than 100 public proxy sources, removes duplicates, tests everything and attaches the measurements in one place. Instead of scraping a dozen public repos and proxy sites and cross-checking them yourself, you get their checked, de-duplicated union, refreshed around the clock.
Know a public proxy source we should pull from? [Open an issue](https://github.com/hproxy-com/free-proxy-list/issues) and we will look at adding it.
## How it works
1. **Aggregate** candidates from more than 100 public sources, every few minutes.
2. **Verify** each proxy over HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5, around the clock.
3. **Measure** every live proxy: country, anonymity grade, latency, uptime.
4. **Publish** the result here several times a day, and on [hproxy.com/free-proxy-list](https://hproxy.com/free-proxy-list) within minutes.
## When a free proxy is not enough
A free proxy is shared with everyone who found the same list, so the targets people care about have usually seen it before you. When the job needs a proxy that stays up, keeps a session, and has not been shared with the whole internet, [HProxy](https://hproxy.com) sells residential, ISP, mobile and datacenter proxies by the gigabyte, from $0.44 per GB. The proxy checker and the live list on the same site stay free.

## Contributing
Proxies cannot be added by pull request: the list is regenerated from the verification engine on every refresh, so a committed entry would be overwritten by the next one. The useful contribution is [a public proxy source](CONTRIBUTING.md) for the engine to pull from.
## Legal
These proxies are aggregated from publicly available sources. We do not scan for them, and we store nothing about the devices behind them. They are provided as they are, with no warranty, for lawful use only. You are responsible for how you use them: follow the GitHub Acceptable Use Policy and your local laws, and never route passwords or sensitive data through a public proxy. If an IP address is yours and you want it removed, open an issue.
